Craft of the Week No.2

Hello,

Thank you to everyone that took a peek at the very first Craft of the Week and commented !

This week I've been extremely busy as I'm due to go back to University tomorrow ! Yayy !  So I've had to get my summer project finished and sort a few bits out which means I haven't had time to put go around looking for someone to guest host this weeks Crafts of the Week. =[

So instead I'm going to be basing this weeks 'COTW' on ATC's !!

A lot of you will have seen my ATC's from one of my post's already but those of you that haven't and don't know what ATC's are then here's a brief summary....

Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) are a form of Art & Craft that people create to swap with others.

There 3.5" x 2.5" not bigger and not smaller this is the only rule people who create atc's go by everything else is up to the person creating and the person receiving. Generally when swapping with others the participates will ask for preferred themes and amount of cards. Many people will have a list of themes they would like others to pick from other with just give the creator the option. Personally I like a little directions and a nice list of themes to choose from so that your not creating something that somebody else isn't interested in or doesn't like. When it comes to others sending me ATC's I'm open to anything I like the surprise of what people are going to send and what sort of media there going to use.

When creating ATC's you can use anything you can possibly get your hands on ! I draw or use different mediums and papers when I create mine depending on the other person I'm swapping with and the themes they have given me !

Once you have created your ATC's on the back of the ATC people do things differently in the way of putting there information on there. I personally have little stickers made up with my logo Tumblr address, email address and Facebook page and I also sign the card, number it and write the title of the ATC. Many people just sign and write the title of the ATC but I think its best to put some for of website or blog so that people can go and check out other ATC's or work you've done.

ATC's are so fun and addictive that once you start you can't stop ! I've had the pleasure of swapping with people from all over the world and not only does it get your work out there for others to see but you get to see what others create in return and form a friendship with these people.

Here are a few examples of my ATC's and I apologise for anyone who has already seen them.

As you can see I use a lot of different things when creating my ATC's it makes it more fun !

Below is a picture I took of the very first ATC's I received from a girl called Steph who lives in America, I was soo made up when I received them in the post !

The envelope and card she sent them in is soo cute too !

Its great when swapping ATC's and you go to your letter box wondering what junk you've had pushed threw and realise you have a lovely little or big envelope with your name in and the possibility of it containing ATC's the excitement is uncontrollable !

Craft of the Week No.1

Every Sunday I have decided that its going to be Craft of the Week day !

On a Sunday I will be posting my favourite Craft of the Week for you all to see and comment on and appreciate and share your feedback !

This week as I have just recently decided on doing this I'm going to stay close to home and show you a little crafting done by my boyfriend Matthew !

Matthew race's model cars or as I like to call them "Toy Cars !"

He goes racing twice a week and loves every minute of it ! (I know this because he never shuts up about his cars )

After getting back into his car racing he sort the opportunity to make a little money and turn himself into a  entrepreneur. In racing the colour & design on your cars represent the driver and each driver has his own specific colours and certain designs running through everything they own. Matthew came across the opportunity to make a little money by buying in clear shells and then masking and airbrushing them himself starting off with his very own.

After a few test runs and realising he could make himself some serious cash Matthew posted a few of the shells he had done on Oople ( Model Car Forum ) and instantly got replies back either wanting the shells or wanting one off shells done.

A year has pasted nearly and he's still going strong in designing and painting these shells and recently came across a new and improved way of doing things by using Vinyl !

Matt bought himself a Silhouette Cameo !
Which is a little cutting machine for Vinyl, Paper, Card Stock etc. And cuts out any shape you want it to via using the software.

Even though the machine wasn't cheap out of all his car gear etc this has got to be the most coolest and best thing he's ever bought  to not only extend his designs and get crisper, neater and more range in colour and texture of car shell design, I also now have something to play with and use to make stickers and die cuts for my crafts ! Yayy !

Below are two picture which I think are the best shells he's ever done and this is using the Cameo Cutter and Vinyl along with his Airbrush.
