Disney Prints

I decided to go a little childish with my illustrations recently trying to see if i could fit into the child category of my illustrations.

I started off with Tinkerbell and then onto Snow White.

For my next prints I'm going to do the 7 Dwarfs together and I have Jasmine, Cinderella & Bell on stand by as well !

Thoughts and ideas welcome !

Something New

Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while I've been extremely busy with my uni work but I have a few things that I've done in my illustration work which i'm proud of and never explored before.

Animals ! I've never taken the time to draw or use animals within my illustration or art work from what i can remember anyways and because i've been into my spray painting, dabbing and stencilling lately I decided to do the animal i love the most..... Tigers.

When i usually do my stencils i draw my design on paper and cut it out but because the spray paint is quite wet the paper usually splits or rips and i can'y use it again. So after hauling through the mounds of stuff I have in my room and the loft I remembered my mum bringing me home several boxes of acetate / copier film from work and had the idea of using that !

When I drew out my design I knew straight away it was going to take a while to cut out especially with a scalpel. And it did but as soon as I dabbed it with paint and sprayed it with my spray ink it was instantly worth the time !

Personally for me these are so great and think they could sell well with animal lovers. I've decided to do a few more my next is a snow leopard.

I'm not quite sure which one I like better really. The alcohol in the ink had a reaction with the paper I think and left a thin out line around the sprayed bits bit I could probably get rid of them when I scan it in.

Any opinions or comments are welcome or any suggestion on other animals or objects would also be great.

Craft of the Week No.2

Thank you to everyone that took a peek at the very first Craft of the Week and commented !

This week I've been extremely busy as I'm due to go back to University tomorrow ! Yayy !  So I've had to get my summer project finished and sort a few bits out which means I haven't had time to put go around looking for someone to guest host this weeks Crafts of the Week. =[

So instead I'm going to be basing this weeks 'COTW' on ATC's !!

A lot of you will have seen my ATC's from one of my post's already but those of you that haven't and don't know what ATC's are then here's a brief summary....

Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) are a form of Art & Craft that people create to swap with others.

There 3.5" x 2.5" not bigger and not smaller this is the only rule people who create atc's go by everything else is up to the person creating and the person receiving. Generally when swapping with others the participates will ask for preferred themes and amount of cards. Many people will have a list of themes they would like others to pick from other with just give the creator the option. Personally I like a little directions and a nice list of themes to choose from so that your not creating something that somebody else isn't interested in or doesn't like. When it comes to others sending me ATC's I'm open to anything I like the surprise of what people are going to send and what sort of media there going to use.

When creating ATC's you can use anything you can possibly get your hands on ! I draw or use different mediums and papers when I create mine depending on the other person I'm swapping with and the themes they have given me !

Once you have created your ATC's on the back of the ATC people do things differently in the way of putting there information on there. I personally have little stickers made up with my logo Tumblr address, email address and Facebook page and I also sign the card, number it and write the title of the ATC. Many people just sign and write the title of the ATC but I think its best to put some for of website or blog so that people can go and check out other ATC's or work you've done.

ATC's are so fun and addictive that once you start you can't stop ! I've had the pleasure of swapping with people from all over the world and not only does it get your work out there for others to see but you get to see what others create in return and form a friendship with these people.

As you can see I use a lot of different things when creating my ATC's it makes it more fun !

Below is a picture I took of the very first ATC's I received from a girl called Steph who lives in America, I was soo made up when I received them in the post !

The envelope and card she sent them in is soo cute too !

Its great when swapping ATC's and you go to your letter box wondering what junk you've had pushed threw and realise you have a lovely little or big envelope with your name in and the possibility of it containing ATC's the excitement is uncontrollable !
